My interest in real estate started early. Growing up as an Army brat, we moved every three years. When I finally moved to College Station to go to Texas A&M, I was ready to be settled, so I bought my first home my senior year in college. It was an older house, and I spent my evenings painting, tearing out old carpet, reglazing windows, and refinishing hardwood floors. I still own and love that house! My background and degree are in journalism, but it wasn’t too long before I decided I was much more interested in houses and that a career in real estate might be a better choice. That was more than 30 years ago, and I am happy every day about that decision. Clients have become friends with whom I enjoy working on a repeat basis, and I am honored when they refer me to their friends and family. I also believe that to best achieve my clients’ goals, I need to understand their experiences. For many years, I have bought and sold personal homes, built new construction, bought rental properties and commercial properties, used a 1031 exchange to buy and sell investments, and now even own an AirBnB! I live in College Station with my husband, Chandler, who retired as a professional photographer and now develops residential subdivisions. We enjoy spending time with our four grown children who live here and in Houston. Travel is a passion for us. I also love gardening, and I’m still fixing up houses! Community is important to me, so I volunteer often. I have served on the boards of OPAS, Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, and numerous HOAs and have worked with Habitat for Humanity, Habitat’s Circle of Women, and the Brazos Valley Food Bank. I have also served on the Bryan/College Station Regional Association of Realtor’s board twice and am active in protecting consumer choices and educating the public about real estate.
